Nikolas: Hey, you’re awake.
Nadine: I just woke up a minute ago, right before you.
Nikolas: How are you feeling?
Nadine: Could have been worse. I could have been fried and served for dinner. Aunt Rayleen used to say that about chickens on a hot day. Never mind.
[Laughs and coughs]
Nadine: I must be on some serious pain meds or something.
Nikolas: I’m just glad you’re okay.
Nadine: How could I not be? You dragged me from under a collapsed ceiling through a raging fire, held my hand through my crying jag, and then apparently stayed the night. Talk about your full-service hero.
Nikolas: Yeah. Well, you know, you’re — you’re important to me.
Nadine: I’m glad you think so. Or - I mean — that — well — it — I appreciate that.
Nikolas: It’s okay. You’re welcome.

Nikolas: When will the doctor be in to check up on her?
Elizabeth: Dr. Fox just started his rounds. Your vitals look good, but how are you feeling?
Nadine: A little tired, but I’m okay.
Nikolas: Will she need any more — any more tests or anything like that?
Elizabeth: Well, that’s for the doctor to decide. Don’t worry. She’s doing well.
Nikolas: Thanks. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have jumped in like that. You’re perfectly capable of asking your own questions.
Nadine: Well, it’s kind of nice to be fussed over. So, feel free.
Nikolas: Oh, well, okay. If you insist, let me just –
[Nadine laughs]
Nadine: Thank you.
Jerry: Sorry to intrude.
Nikolas: What do you want?
Jerry: Well, I’ve heard about the news of — about the fire, and it must have been terrifying.
Nadine: Nikolas pulled me out before I got burned.
Jerry: Oh, that’s good. I’m pleased to hear it.
Nikolas: I’m sorry, you don’t even know her. Why would you come here to check up on her?
Jerry: Well, truth be told, I feel rather guilty. I — I’m — I just hope the fire is not tied to the fact that I gave you information about the prospective shipment of counterfeit drugs.
Nikolas: Do you suspect someone?
Jerry: No, no, nothing concrete, but it’s not unheard of for an arsonist to get caught in his own fire.
Nikolas: If you’re suggesting that she had something to do with this –
Jerry: No, no, no. I assumed there were other people in the clinic. I mean, did anyone else have a reason to be there?

Nikolas: Okay, I consider myself a fairly intelligent man, but I can’t make heads or tails of these test results.
Nadine: Well, I am a nurse, remember? So I do speak medicalese. You could simply let me read my chart.
Nikolas: Okay, translation please.
Nadine: All right. Uh, well, it looks like I have minor smoke inhalation, and I should be released today.
Nikolas: Yeah, but, I mean, you can’t — you can’t be alone in your — in your apartment right now. I mean, you could have — there could be complications. You could — you know?
Nadine: First of all, you’re not my doctor. And secondly, I’m not staying in this hospital a second longer than I have to.
Nikolas: No, no, of course not. I’m just saying you need — you need downtime. Rest. Relaxation. Sunshine. Things like that.
Nadine: Hmm, you’re right. You know what? I’m going to spend a month on my private yacht, cruising the Caribbean. That should do the trick.
Nikolas: Okay. Actually I was — I was hoping that you would come stay with me at Wyndemere.
