Nikolas: How does it feel?

Nadine: A little strange.

Nikolas: Relax, relax your arm, okay? Your elbow.

Nadine: Okay, mm-hmm.

Nikolas: All right, try not to look at your feet.

Nadine: Okay.

Nikolas: And just follow me. I’ll take you where you need to go, all right?

Nadine: Okay.

Nikolas: You got to feel the music pulsating through your veins.

Nadine: All right, I got it, I got it.

Nikolas: Now we’re going to go around, all right?

Nadine: Okay.

Nikolas: Ready? One, two, three four — oh, all right.

Nadine: You’re even better than the Jackal.

Nikolas: You mean Spinelli?

Nadine: Yeah. I danced with him once. He was surprisingly rhythmic, actually.

Nikolas: Well, then, I’m quite flattered.

Nadine: You’re doing a very good job of not making me feel like a total klutz.

Nikolas: [Chuckles]

Nadine: Oh, yeah, that was your toe, wasn’t it?

Nikolas: Yep, that was my toe. That’s all right, I got another one. Just relax, okay? We’ll just stick with this, all right? We’ll just stick with this.

Nadine: Okay.

Nikolas: All right, put your elbow up. Ready?

Nadine: Yes.

Nikolas’ voice: Nadine?

Nikolas: Nadine. What’s wrong? Did I make you dizzy?

Nadine: You don’t have to take care of me.

Nikolas: Here, drink, drink.

Nadine: But –

Nikolas: Drink it.

Nadine: All right.

Nikolas: I’m really sorry about that.

Nadine: Sorry?

Nikolas: Yeah, I should have remembered, all that spinning can make you dizzy if you’re not used to waltzing.

Nadine: It wasn’t dizzy, exactly. It was more exhilarated. Once I relaxed, like you said, it was almost like flying.

Nikolas: You’re a good partner, very — very light in the arms.

Nadine: Hmm. Well, in that case, maybe we could give it another try?

Nikolas: Really? You sure?

Nadine: Very sure, unless you can’t bear the thought of dragging me around the dance floor once again.

Nikolas: I’d be delighted.

Nadine: Great.

Nikolas: Come on.

[Pager beeps]

Nadine: Technically, I’m still on call, and that’s Spinelli in the O.R. with a hit-and-run, so I got to go.

Nikolas: Yeah, okay. Can I give you — give you a ride there? I’d be happy to give you –

Nadine: Thank you so much.

Nikolas: You’re welcome.

Nadine: It was amazing, just amazing. I got to go.

Nikolas: Are you sure you don’t want –

Nadine: I just heard about Spinelli. How’s he doing?

Leyla: He’s pretty banged up, but stable. Dr. Hunter is ordering a battery of tests.

Nadine: Oh, Matt Hunter is his attending?

Leyla: Yes.

Nadine: Okay, maybe I should intervene.

Leyla: How?

Nadine: I don’t know, go warn Patrick Drake?

Leyla: Dr. Hunter might be an arrogant jerk, but professionally speaking, he’s very competent. I don’t think Spinelli has much of a choice right now. Patrick left an hour ago and Hunter’s the best physician in the building tonight.

Nadine: Yeah, nothing says care and compassion like a doctor who steals medication and switches it with placebos.

Leyla: How much evidence do you actually have against Hunter? Because if you’re right, he shouldn’t be anywhere near Spinelli.

Maxie: What are you doing back here?

Matt: Mr. Spinelli, your spleen has ruptured. It’ll have to come out. I need your consent to operate.

Nadine: Don’t do it, Spinelli.

Nadine: Let me page Dr. Drake. Either one, or Dr. Behar or anyone else on staff tonight, because spleen removal is a very common procedure. You don’t need a specialist. In fact, any one of us nurses could probably do it, so just pick an option, any option, just not Dr. Hunter.

Matt: Nurse Crowell, really, that is more than enough. Come over here, please, for a second. Your paranoia has stepped over the line. Don’t you dare ever question my professionalism in front of a patient. Now, despite Nurse Crowell’s opinion, I’m a highly qualified surgeon, certainly the best that’s wandering the halls here tonight. Dr. Drake is off duty, and Behar is on a cruise, so I am the best shot that you’ve got.

Maxie: Well, what would happen if we waited until Patrick was back?

Matt: No, Mr. Spinelli needs this operation now, unless you feel lucky enough to risk serious complications.

Maxie: Elizabeth, I obviously don’t trust this guy, and I don’t know these other nurses very well. I know you and I have had issues, but you’re an honorable person, and you wouldn’t lie about a patient. Is he right? Would it hurt Spinelli if we wait?

Elizabeth: He’s bleeding internally and in a lot of pain. You’ll be putting him at risk if you wait. And if it helps, I’ve seen him in the O.R, and he’s a pretty good surgeon. You know, we should do the procedure now.

Matt: Okay, so, this is ridiculous. I’m going to scrub.

Maxie: Oh, well, Spinelli didn’t give you his consent yet. Spinelli, what do you want to do?

Spinelli: Well, the Jackal’s cognitive skills are a bit blurred due to, well, being hit by a car, but he trusts fair Maximista to make the right choice. My life is happily resting in your lovely hands.
