Nadine: Come on, at least try. Maybe you’ll make more progress than I did.

Leyla: You know, unlike you, I don’t happen think Dr. Hunter is part of some counterfeit drug ring. I do think, though, that he’s a bit of a rebel and a major player, a lot like Patrick. Which begs the question, why would I willingly put myself in another position where my heart could be made available for more indiscriminate stomping?

Matt: I need the Allen chart.

Leyla: Okay.

Matt: Thank you. What is that smell?

Leyla: Smell?

Matt: Yeah — no, it’s you. You’re wearing a new perfume.

Leyla: Oh, I don’t wear perfume, none of us do. Patients could be allergic.

Matt: Oh, so you’re just trying to say you naturally smell like heaven?

Nadine: Doctors Drake and Scorpio, here are your charts for today.

Robin: Thank you.

Patrick: Uh, you know what? Let me take Rosenthal and I’ll take Diaz. I’m familiar with that, too.

Robin: No, I will take it because I’m the doctor of record. That’s why I come to work everyday, to treat my patients.

Patrick: No, I know. I just thought maybe you could get a little rest. You and the baby can go home and — you don’t need rest, it’s still the morning. What am I thinking?

Robin: Yeah. See you later.

Patrick: Okay.

Matt: So I would like — I would love to take you out to dinner some time. So what’s a good night?

Leyla: I don’t date in the workplace.

Matt: Right, neither do I. I don’t think we should have dinner in the workplace, either.

Leyla: Sorry, that’s a rule I have.

Matt: Yeah? Okay, rules are made to broken. There’s exceptions.

Leyla: I don’t think so.

Matt: Can you think just a little more on it?

[Loud clap]

Patrick: Shut your mouth and back off, or I’ll turn you in for sexual harassment.

Patrick: Did you skip the sexual-harassment seminar? It’s mandatory, you know. And from what I just heard, you’re pretty much the only guy around here that could use the guidance.

Matt: Okay, um, other than the sheer hypocrisy of Patrick “Dog” Drake lecturing anyone about sex in the workplace, you are completely out of line. You may be senior to me when it comes to treating patients, but you have absolutely no authority over my personal life, and that includes who I’d like to flirt with.

Patrick: Leyla, is Dr. Hunter bothering you? If so, just say the word and I’ll have him shipped down to the admittance desk.

Leyla: Okay, uh, I really appreciate your concern, but it’s unnecessary. I’m perfectly capable of handling Matt by myself.

Matt: I actually have work to do. Nice picture, buddy.

Leyla: Did he just –

Patrick: Guy’s a jerk.

Leyla: Yeah.

Nadine: I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that asking you to work Matt would put you in the middle of all that.

Leyla: No, it’s okay. All of a sudden, I’m really intrigued about the dynamic between Matt and Patrick. Interesting, don’t you think?

Nikolas All right, thanks, Lucky. Bye.

[Nikolas sighs]

Nikolas I can’t take this anymore.

Nadine: You all right?

Nikolas Oh, what do you want, Nadine?

Nadine: I heard your sister was committed to Shadybrook. I thought you might need someone to talk to.

Nikolas No, no, I really don’t, but thanks for making the trip. I’m fine, really.

Nadine: Is that why you just killed your cell phone?

Nikolas You can leave now. You can leave now.

Nadine: No.

Nikolas No?

Nadine: I’m not leaving you alone in this state.

Nikolas Okay, you know what? I get it, I get it now. I get that you — that you want to help me. I get that you have this little crush on me or whatever it is you want to call it. I get that you’re a good person and that you want to save me, but you can’t save me. You understand? And even if I were to be with you, in the end, you’d just end up hurt.

Nadine: You can’t choose for me.

Nikolas You got to be — okay. Okay, fine. Fine. Is this what you really want?
